Description
You can access this feature from the Management Panel (for changing your company symbol) or from the Subsidiary Management Panel (to change one of your subsidiaries' symbol).
When clicking on this button, you will be prompted to choose a new symbol. A valid symbol is a 1-4 alphanumerical characters (all capitalized). Note that the current symbol is set as default. If the symbol is already being used by another company, then a warning text Symbol is unavailable! will be displayed. Clicking confirm in this case won't have any effect.
Click confirm to confirm the symbol change, or cancel to keep the current name. The symbol change will appear in the Financial News Table.
Strategy tips
- Changing the company symbol has no effect (as of now) on the company valuation, but it can be useful to remember who is who.
Real-world parallel
In the real world, changing the company symbol by itself usually has no significant impact. It usually comes with a name change.
